Product Description
The gauge glass for measuring water level in boilers is made from a strong type of glass called High Borosilicate. It has a special design with grooves on one side that face the chamber where the water is located. These grooves are made during the manufacturing process and are set at 90° angles to increase their durability. The glass is also treated to make it smooth and hard, which helps protect it from the harsh conditions inside the boiler.
By using a gasket for added protection, this gauge glass can be used with any type of liquid or gas at pressures up to 4MPa and temperatures up to 430 °C.
FAQ
Q: What is reflex gauge glass?
A: Reflex gauge glass is a type of level indicator used in industrial applications to visually monitor the level of liquids in tanks or vessels. It consists of a transparent glass tube with a series of prisms on the outside surface, which create a reflection effect that indicates the liquid level.
Q: How does reflex gauge glass work?
A: Reflex gauge glass works based on the principle of total internal reflection. The prisms on the outside of the glass tube reflect light back into the liquid when the tube is filled. When the liquid level drops below the top of the prisms, the reflection is interrupted, indicating that the liquid level is below that point.
Q: What are the advantages of using reflex gauge glass?
A: Reflex gauge glass offers several advantages, including its ability to provide a clear and visible indication of the liquid level, even in high-pressure or high-temperature environments. It is also resistant to corrosion and chemical attacks, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
Q: What are the applications of reflex gauge glass?
A: Reflex gauge glass is commonly used in industries such as petrochemical, power generation, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage, where accurate and reliable liquid level monitoring is crucial. It is often used in boilers, storage tanks, pressure vessels, and other equipment.
Q: Can reflex gauge glass be customized?
A: Reflex gauge glass can be customized to meet specific requirements, such as length, diameter, and material. It is important to consult with a manufacturer or supplier to determine the appropriate specifications for a particular application.
